CE Dealer Team, from idea to four years
In short
1
.
In 2022 we founded CE Dealer Team together with Volvo CE and its dealers, to prove in public that electric machines perform.
2
.
PWR RX ran the whole team: cars, drivers, crew, logistics, safety and content.
3
.
We chose one female and one male driver from the start, because the team was built to show where the industry is going.
Volvo CE had decided to lead the electrification of construction equipment. The machines were ready. The hard part was making customers, dealers and future engineers believe it. In 2022 we gave them a place to see it happen, at full speed and in front of a crowd.
Why rallycross?
Rallycross is short, loud and hard on the machinery. A heat lasts a few minutes, the surface switches between asphalt and gravel, and every car is in contact with the others. If an electric drivetrain holds up there, the argument about whether electric can do heavy work is over.
The FIA World Rallycross Championship also brought what a trade fair cannot: a global audience, a fixed calendar and results that are published whether you like them or not. That was the point. Volvo CE's claim would be tested in public, every round.
Who did what?
CE Dealer Team was built together with Volvo CE and its network of independent dealers. They put their name on the car and their customers in the paddock. PWR RX operated everything behind it: the team, the two fully electric RX1e cars, the drivers, the crew, the travel, the safety programme and the content that carried the story to Volvo CE's own channels.
Industrial partners followed because Volvo CE led. SSAB and Parker brought their own technology to the team, alongside other partners from Volvo CE's world.

Why one female and one male driver?
The team was set up to drive change in two areas: sustainability and diversity. Construction is an industry that needs more women, and a team built to show its future should look like it. So we started with one female and one male driver, the first gender-equal line-up in World Rallycross. [CONFIRM: first gender-equal line-up]
We picked them on speed. Klara Andersson raced with the team from the first season. In 2023 at Höljes she became the first woman to take a podium in World RX. Niclas Grönholm, an eight-time World RX race winner, finished second in the Drivers' Championship in 2025.

What did four years look like?
The team won a medal in the Teams' Championship in season after season, and 2025 was its best: second overall, with Grönholm second among the drivers. Safety got the same attention as speed. In 2024 the team appointed a full-time
Safety Officer, the first in World RX, and introduced new quick couplings from Parker for safer work on the cars. Volvo CE built the tracks as the championship's official track building partner, with electric machines on site.
And when a rival team, Hansen Motorsport, risked missing the round in Finland in 2025, CE Dealer Team and Volvo CE helped get them on the grid. The sport needed a full field more than we needed one less competitor.
What did we learn?
A race team works as a platform when the partner owns the message and the operator owns the delivery. Volvo CE could stand in front of its customers and say "electric performs", because every weekend the result was there to prove it. Our job was to make sure the car started, the crew was safe and the story reached the people who decide.
